Vilnius University aims to give a lot to its students, alumni, and social partners. However, taking into account the size of the University, the number of campuses and departments, and the number of students, the contribution of the University alone is not enough to ensure quality learning in modern facilities adapted to teaching with innovative learning tools, in order to achieve breakthrough innovations in the field of science. Therefore, we actively cooperate with our social partners, whose support allows us to implement more for a better result.

By donating support to the VU Endowment Fund or by establishing a nominal scholarship for VU students, you too can contribute to the University's goal of supporting the studies of the most talented students, encouraging good learning results, supporting the highest quality research, financing the internships of the most talented students and researchers, and attracting the best foreign lecturers and researchers. Even a small amount of support is always appreciated!

Vilnius University Endowment Fund

Vilnius University is the first Lithuanian higher education institution to establish its own endowment fund. Such a fund ensures sustainable support, where every euro invested can serve forever to generate support for the University.

How does it work? Instead of using the allocated support immediately for the current purposes of the University, it is invested annually, and only the received return on investment is used for current purposes.

The Fund was created following the examples of the best universities in America, whose annual return on investment reaches millions. Of course, the VU Fund has not yet achieved such results – currently, the endowment capital fund has 3.2 million. euros, and the annual investment return is currently allocated to projects and initiatives promoting the international competitiveness of Vilnius University.

Scholarship of Your name

More than 23,000 students study at Vilnius University every year. And every year, our partners establish about 500 nominal scholarships to support and encourage them.

The nominal scholarship is awarded to the best students of bachelor's, integrated, master's, and doctoral studies according to certain fields of activity for special achievements or merits in these fields (e.g. for good study results, for a final thesis or research in a specific field, etc.) Scholarships can be awarded once, several times, or annually.
