The aim of the Art Management programme is to train highly qualified specialists in art management capable of devising management strategies of art organisations, identifying and creatively solving management and marketing problems of art organisations, projects and initiatives, carrying out collaborative art and business projects. The relevance of knowledge and abilities acquired in this programme is testified by its popularity among individuals working in the sphere of art and culture. Key Learning Outcomes
A graduate of the programme is able to:
- comprehend art theories and apply them when analysing art objects; explain the principles of management theories and apply them when working at art organisations;
- comprehend the strategies of marketing and apply them in art promotion projects;
- apply methods of marketing when analysing and summarising data about the needs and preferences of target audiences;
- analyse and critically evaluate the evolution of art, the transformations of the concept of art;
analyse the interaction between art industries and the development trends of a global society;
- analyse the business models and strategies of art organisations;
- improve the performance of art organisations;
- critically evaluate work, products and sources of information;
- implement local and international art promotion projects;
- assess the interdisciplinary context of managerial work;
- take initiative and coordinate activities, make decisions and solve problems based on the development trends of a society, the specificities and values of national and international environments;
- apply communication strategies to create and develop effective communication on the internal and external levels of an organisation;
convincingly present their decisions and creative ideas;
- identify and substantiate issues in art management, choose empirical and theoretical material, as well as research methods for the investigation of the problem and to carry out research.
Programme Specific Requirements
- Completed studies in business and public management study field groups; economics, sociology, communication field of the social sciences study field group; linguistics, classical studies, philology by language, translation, regional studies, history, archaeology, philosophy, heritage studies, culture studies, history and theory of arts field of the humanities study field group; arts field of the arts group.
- Those not possessing a university bachelor’s degree diploma in the aforementioned fields shall have at least 15 ECTS credits earned in marketing and/or management areas.
- Motivational interview. The motivational interview is organised remotely.
In addition, all applicants have to fulfil the general admission requirements.

What comes after?
- Graduates of the Art Management Master programme can occupy leading positions of different levels in private and public organisations engaged in creating, producing, disseminating and protecting art where a good understanding of the art sector and management competences is required. Graduates of the programme can also develop their own businesses as art project managers, organisers of events, art marketing specialists and consultants, agents of artists, art and business organisation liaisons.
