Student Card
All students at Vilnius University are required to obtain the Lithuanian Student Identity Card (LSIC or LSP as in the Lithuanian language). This is a list of important things to know why an LSP card can be useful for you:
- it is necessary for getting access to the University library services;
- it is the best proof of your identity as a student at the University itself (especially while taking exams);
- it gives you various discounts at theatres, cinemas, and many other services and purchases;
- it gives you discounts for public transport in the biggest cities of Lithuania and travels between the cities and towns by buses or trains.
LSIC price for one or two semesters is 6.00 EUR.
Getting your LSIC:
You can register on the online LSIC system at www.lsp.lt/en as soon as you get your acceptance letter from Vilnius University although you will only be able to order your LSIC after the University registers your data in the system. This is usually done on the second part of August so do not worry about this beforehand.
The whole procedure of obtaining your LSIC is listed on the Vilnius University Student Representation website https://vusa.lt/lt/vu-student-identity-card.
Identity Management System
The Identity Management System identifies user and provides access to VU electronic services. All international students must register at the Identity Management System at https://id.vu.lt to be able to access all of the IT services provided at Vilnius University. The registration should be done as soon as the semester begins.
Students services like personal email, eStudent Information system, Virtual Learning Environment, Virtual Library and Internet access can be accessed after registering at the Identity Management System.
VU SSO (Single Sing On) permits user to use one Login Name and Password for all VU e-Service.
Check the website for more information
Registration in Lithuania
All EU citizens coming for a longer period than 1 semester studies must register at the Migration Office and the local authority body called Seniunija. All non EU citizens coming for exchange studies for any study period must get Visa D. All information about it is available on VU website or Migration department website.
Making changes to the Study Plan in the VU Information System
During the first two weeks of each semester students can make the changes to their Study Plans using the Vilnius University Information System. Once the changes are confirmed by the coordinators of the faculties, students are officially enrolled to their chosen courses. The changes should be done in the System by:
- 16 September – in Autumn semester
- 14 February – in Spring semester
Please note that:
It's not possible to add any new courses after the deadline above. Removing the courses from your study plan is possible during the semester, please inform the exchange student coordinator via the email if you wish to do so.
Changes to Learning Agreement
After the changes to the study plan are done in the University Study System, it is necessary to list them in the Learning Agreement by completing the during the mobility part of the document. Please make sure to send the document to the exchange student coordinator once you complete and sign your document.
The end of the semester
There are some important things students should be aware of at the end of semester and/or before leaving Vilnius University.
The results of all passed exams will be recorded by lecturers in the University database (VU IS) within 5 days after the official date of the exam. Student’s Transcript of Records (ToR) will be issued automatically from the University database as soon as all the examination data of the student exams is recorded. Usually, ToRs are issued within two weeks after the end of a semester (middle of February in Autumn semester and middle of July in Spring).
Once the document is ready, it will be sent to your and your coordinator email address. If it is necessary, the hard copy of the document can also be sent to your address.
Confirmations of study period can be issued at the end of your semester. The documents are all signed digitally, please send the required document to us via the email.
Student’s Questionnaire. Did you enjoy your stay at Vilnius University? In order to improve our work you will be asked to complete the Questionnaire which will be sent to you at the end of a semester by e-mail.
